Behind every closing and every home sold, Kat and Darion Higdon have always believed their work must extend beyond real estate. For them, giving back isn’t a separate endeavor—it’s the foundation of their business and woven into every transaction.
For Darion, his years in law enforcement introduced him to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier County, where he worked alongside advocates helping children who were victims of abuse. The strength and compassion he witnessed there left a lasting impression, inspiring his continued support for their mission.
For Kat, service has been a lifelong calling. Growing up in Venezuela, she was taught the value of sharing and serving others. Since 2010, she has served as an Emergency Disaster Responder with the American Red Cross, answering the call when disasters strike across the country. Without hesitation, Kat routinely responds to deployments across the country to help those affected by hurricanes, fires, and flooding when called upon.
In 2020, Kat was nominated for the MVP LIFE AWARD — Humanitarian Award and Agent of the Year — and was selected by her Broker, Derek Carlson, to travel to Haiti with his wife, Brittany Carlson, to deliver donations on behalf of MVP Realty, and volunteer at Destiny Village, a Christian orphanage. There, Kat and Brittany personally met with and supported the children in need. Kat continues to provide financial support to this wonderful organization to this day.
Kat and Darion’s charitable giving also extends to organizations like Fostering Success, which provides vital support, mentorship, and resources to help foster youth build confidence, stability, and a brighter future.
Known for her compassion and community spirit, Kat was honored as Humanitarian of the Year by NABOR in 2021 and again by the Florida Association of Realtors in 2022, a reflection of her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
Together, Kat and Darion continue to balance their careers in real estate with a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of others — locally, nationally, and globally.

The Collier Children’s Advocacy Center was founded in 1986 as a Child Protection Team, built on one simple truth: protecting children from abuse requires all of us—working together. In our very first year, we served 167 children and their non-offending caregivers. Nearly four decades later, that number has grown to over 1,400 children and family members annually. |

Over the last 25 years, Destiny Village has focused on the immediate, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the children in our orphanage. Those who have served in an orphanage know how hard it is to provide food, shelter, clothes, and education for many children; not to mention spiritual formation. The results have been astounding, and all glory goes to God. |
